Winter Sports are hot at the moment all over Europe and North America, and Norway is the best nation in the Winter Sports ranking after the month of February 2013.

The month was very busy as it featured the Alpine Skiing World Championships, the Skeleton, Bobsleigh and Luge World Championships, the All Round Speed Skating, Bandy and Biathlon World Championships!

The race is tight, as the table below shows, with Norway at 319 points, only 27 points ahead of Germany, while Russia is third with 275. The USA are powering up the overall Global Cup table (they jumped from 12th in January to 6th at the end of February) and are fifth with 223 points, only 3 points behind little big Austria with 226.

So far the ranking is dominated by European nations, 8 in the top ten. Last year’s Winter Sports champions Canada are currently 10th, while it’s worth noting that the first Asiatic country in the ranking is currently Kazakhstan, 15th on the strength of their third place in the Bandy World Championships.
