Italy Win 2017 Rowing World Championships
Italy won the 2017 Rowing World Championships with 320 points – 9.8% of the total points on offer.
Great Britain came second with 316 points (9.7% of the points on offer) and New Zealand third with 272 points (8.4% of the points on offer).
The USA, Australia, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, France and Ireland rounded out the Top Ten.
There were a total of 3252 points, across 21 events, up for grabs at the Championships which took place at Sarasota in Florida.
The results underlined the value of strength in depth. Italy scored points in 14 events, Great Britain in 16 and New Zealand in 11. Italy’s consistently higher placings – including three 1st places - ensured they came out on top.
The 2017 Rowing World Championships finished on 1st October, and the results aren’t yet reflected on the GSN tables.
