world flags.gif

In 2018, 61 of the 79 sports currently tracked by GSN staged major international tournaments and awarded Global Cup points.

We had 21 different countries as sport winners, with Global Cup champions the USA top of the ranking for the most wins, 11, followed by Germany and China with 6. Great Britain and the Netherlands won five sports each (the latter was the only country to finish in the top 10 both in the Global Cup and the Per Capita Cup), Japan, which came fourth in the Global Cup (its best-ever finish), won four sports, while France and Russia, respectively second and third in the Global Cup, won three sports apiece, as did Canada.
