USA wins month of April ahead of Kenya
The USA, Global Cup champions in 2017, have finally put their mark on the 2018 edition of GSN’s unique ranking of the world’s best sporting nations, by winning the month of April.
The mighty Stars & Stripes won a whopping 38% share of the points in the month, scoring just over 50% of their tally through a dominating performance in Golf, at the Augusta Masters and the Kraft Nabisco Championships.
Their other major point-earning sport was Marathon, as the USA came a very close second to Kenya in the Boston Marathon.
These two countries also bagged the top two places in the monthly ranking, followed in the top 10 by Ethiopia, Sweden, Great Britain, Japan, Canada (winners this month of the Curling World Championships), South Korea, Spain and Thailand.
