Heavy-hitting China and Serbia dominate month of November

N. Djokovic (Serbia) powers to the ATP Masters title
In a relatively lean sporting month, the headlines in the Global Cup, the unique ranking of the world’s best sporting nations, have been made by the heavy hitters at the Shooting World Championships and the ATP Tennis Masters Finals.
China and Serbia, respectively first and second in the monthly ranking, dominated the Shooting worlds, with Novak Djokovic adding to the Balkan country’s success by clinching the ATP Masters title and with it the Tennis Global Cup for his country, a mere 10 points ahead of Rafael Nadal’s Spain.
Positions in the yearly Global Cup top 10 have remained quite unruffled by the blazing guns and rackets. The USA have kept a lead of over 1400 points over Russia, with Germany, third in the Shooting worlds, hanging on to third place. China is only 169 points behind them, and the race will be tight to the end.
Below them, Italy (now 7th, their best ever standing) switched positions with Canada after a strong showing in Shooting.
Notably, China have now edged over Russia in second place in the Women Global Cup ranking, though only by 30 points.  While the top three positions in the Men ranking (respectively USA, Russia and France) seem settled, the race for second place in the Ladies ranking is still open.

Only one month to go, with the end of the various Golf Tours and the Women Handball World Championships to settle the issue.
